Build and Release Coordinator Herndon, VA
Centurion is seeking candidates with strong information systems skills to be part of a dynamic team. This position is a hands-on role, crucially centered and focused on planning and performing internal (within company) and external (remote and onsite at customer locations) software deployments. The position is expected to assess the current build/release/deploy paradigm and identify opportunities for improvement processes. In most cases, the ideal candidate will both identify the opportunities for process improvements and implement automation to facilitate a completely automated deployment process.
Manage the effective implementation of new software and hardware releases into the customer operational environments using a controlling process of configuration and change management.
Establishing, documenting, implementing, managing, and monitoring the release management process in line with overall automation objectives.
Coordinate services implement and monitor release plans including producing detailed timetables of events and documenting action plans.
Maintaining a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.
Measuring and monitoring progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and meet expectations.
Identifying all applicable stakeholders per release, notifies, communicates, and manages expectations during the planning and rollout of new releases.
Conducting release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business go/no-go reviews.
Customer facing support will be required. Candidate should have excellent communication and customer service skills.
Bachelors degree in a computer related field
2+ years of experience in a Build/Release engineering and/or DevOps engineering role
3+ years of hands on experience with
o Cobbler experience a plus
Red Hat certification a plus
Experience planning, coordinating, testing, and scheduling major releases of software.
Experience using an enterprise ticketing system to coordinate and schedule activities.
Excellent problem solving, issue identification, analytical and technical documentation skills
Able to work independently and productively under pressure
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
Beginning in 2022, there be an expectation of 10-20% travel both locally (Herndon, VA) and internationally
Clearance: Ability to Obtain a Public Trust
US Citizenship or Authorization to work in US required
Travel: < 10% (CONUS)
