Sr DBA Germantown, MD
We are looking to hire a Senior DBA for a hybrid position in Germantown, MD. The Senior DBA will be working as part of a Software development team to analyze, design, develop, test, document, and deploy backend databases and associated software.
Responsibilities:
• Design and deploy databases, working closely with system designers and developers
• Ability to understand software architecture and schema design with respect to databases and recommend approaches to the software development team
• Analyze and resolve database performance related issues
• Recommend and implement mechanism to regularly upgrade and patch databases and replication software
• Provide production support to issues escalated to the engineering team
• Recommend and deploy solutions to provide data protection and integrity
Requirements:
• 8-10 years of experience with Oracle Database design and administration
• Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science or related field
• 4+ years experience with replication software, specifically Oracle Golden Gate
• 8+ years’ proficiency with working in Linux environments
• 4+ years of experience using scripting languages (e.g. Shell, PL/SQL, Python)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in a related field
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Knowledge of products like Oracle RAC and Enterprise Manager
• Experience with Mongo and Postgresql
• Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively within a team environment
